The California ISO has launched a new initiative called Western Energy Imbalance Market (EIM) Sub-Entity Scheduling Coordinator, and will hold a public stakeholder call on Nov. 12, 2020 to discuss the issue paper/straw proposal for this initiative.
In this initiative, the ISO is proposing to create a new Western EIM sub-entity scheduling role that would allow for multiple scheduling coordinators within a single Western EIM entity balancing authority area to schedule and settle non-participating loads and resources. The proposal details the delegation of authority and responsibilities between the Western EIM entity scheduling coordinators and Western EIM sub-entity scheduling coordinators.
A presentation, along with the paper, will be available prior to the meeting on the initiative webpage at https://stakeholdercenter.caiso.com/StakeholderInitiatives/Western-EIM-sub-entity-scheduling-coordinator-role.
A web conference will be available for stakeholder convenience. In addition, the call will be recorded and the video file posted on the initiative webpage for a limited time. The recording is for informational and convenience purposes only, and any related transcriptions should not be reprinted without the ISO’s permission.
Please submit written comments on the issue paper/straw proposal by end of day Dec. 3, 2020, through the ISO’s new commenting tool using the link on the initiative webpage.
