The California ISO Balancing Authority is updating its Emergency Alerts to be more consistent with Reliability Coordinator and neighboring Balancing Authority procedures. The Alert, Warning, Stage 1, 2, 3 are changing to Energy Emergency Alert (EEA) Watch, EEA 1, 2, 3 effective May 1, 2022. There are no changes to the Flex Alert, Restricted Maintenance Operations or Transmission Emergency.
The ISO has revised the operating procedures referenced below with draft versions available for review and comments through end of day, April 15, 2022. Please send all comments to the ISO Procedure Control Desk at ProcedureControl@caiso.com by end of day April 15, 2022. Procedures will become effective May 1, 2022.
