The California ISO has scheduled a call on March 30, 2021, to discuss additional analysis conducted on the performance of the resource sufficiency evaluation process for the California ISO balancing authority area during the summer 2020 extreme heat events. The analysis along with the presentation will be posted prior to the meeting on the Market Enhancements for Summer 2021 Readiness initiative webpage at https://stakeholdercenter.caiso.com/StakeholderInitiatives/Market-enhancements-for-summer-2021-readiness.
This analysis is being conducted to provide additional data and analysis related to the policy discussions for the Market Enhancements for Summer 2021 Readiness initiative and related to the resource sufficiency evaluation process. Additionally, based on the feedback received, the ISO has committed to launch a new initiative that will consider potential enhancements to the resource sufficiency evaluation process as well as possible changes to the consequences for failure to the tests. Details related to the new initiative will be communicated in a future notice.
