The California ISO has scheduled a public stakeholder meeting on Jan. 29, 2020 to discuss the straw proposal for the Maximum Import Capability (MIC) Stabilization and Multi-Year Allocation initiative.
Through this initiative, the ISO will review and update the methodology used to calculate the Maximum Import Capability in order to make year-by-year fluctuations more stable. The ISO is also proposing to change the assignment process under Tariff section 40.4.6.1 from a year by year to a multi-year allocation process in order to allow for long-term contracting with resources outside the ISO Balancing Authority Area.
The straw proposal will be available on the initiative webpage by end of day Jan. 22, 2020 at http://www.caiso.com/StakeholderProcesses/Maximum-import-capability-stabilization-multi-year-allocation.
An agenda and presentation will also be available prior to the meeting at the link above.
If planning to attend the meeting in person, please RSVP by Jan. 27. A web conference will be available for stakeholder convenience.
Please submit written comments to RegionalTransmission@caiso.com by end of day Feb. 12.
