On May 6, 2021, the Western Energy Imbalance Market (EIM) Governing Body and the California ISO Board of Governors jointly approved the Western EIM Governance Review Committee’s Part One proposal for enhancements to governance. One of the enhancements is the ability of the Governing Body to retain a market expert (GBME) to provide the body with advice on market design issues.
After taking into account stakeholder input, the Governing Body has developed and is posting a job description for this position.
As described in more detail in the posting, the GBME will provide evaluations and technical opinions, as requested by the Governing Body. Additionally, the GBME will provide routine market-related analysis and reports as specified by Governing Body. For this position, qualified candidates must meet independence requirements that follow FERC’s requirements related to RTOs and ISOs.
