Capacity Procurement Mechanism Designation on 7/5/19

On July 5, 2019, the California ISO issued an Exceptional Dispatch Capacity Procurement Mechanism (CPM) designation to address a non-system reliability need to HUMBPP_6_UNITS. The quantity of the designation was 15.73 megawatts (MW). The Exceptional Dispatch was issued to address a potential thermal overload in the Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) Area for the next contingency event.

On July 8, 2019, the ISO issued a second Exceptional Dispatch CPM designation to the same unit for the same reason for an additional 10 MW above the July 5 designation.

Per ISO tariff section 43A., the two designations will be treated as a single designation, the quantity of the initial designation will be increased to the sum of the two designations, and the “increase will be effective for the remainder of the initial Exceptional Dispatch CPM Term and retroactively to the beginning of the initial Exceptional Dispatch CPM Term or the first day of the month in which the increase occurs, whichever is later.”

The ISO has designated the capacity identified below effective July 5, 2019 for a non-system reliability need. The CPM term is for 60 days under the tariff, subject to adjustment and the payment provisions set forth in the CPM tariff provisions.
