Energy Storage and Distributed Energy Resources Phase 2 Straw Proposal Posted, Call 5/31/16

 

 

Summary

The California ISO posted the Energy Storage and Distributed Energy Resources Phase 2 straw proposal to its website. A stakeholder call is scheduled for May 31, 2016 to discuss the proposal. Please submit comments on the proposal by June 9.

The ISO posted the Energy Storage and Distributed Energy Resources (ESDER) Phase 2 straw proposal to its website at http://www.caiso.com/Documents/StrawProposalforEnergyStorageandDistributedEnergyResourcesStakeholderInitiativePhase2.pdf.

 

In the straw proposal, the ISO refines the scope of topic areas being addressed in ESDER Phase 2 and clarifies its proposed direction on these topic areas based on stakeholder feedback.  The topic areas addressed are (1) non-generator resource model enhancements, (2) demand response enhancements, (3) multiple-use applications, (4) distinction between wholesale charging energy and station power, and (5) allocation of transmission access charge to load served by distributed energy resources.

 

A stakeholder call is scheduled for May 31, 2016 to review the straw proposal.

 

A presentation and agenda will be available by close of business May 27 on the initiative webpage at http://www.caiso.com/informed/Pages/StakeholderProcesses/EnergyStorage_DistributedEnergyResourcesPhase2.aspx.

Please submit comments on the straw proposal to initiativecomments@caiso.com by close of business June 9.
