The California ISO will host a stakeholder call on Oct. 3, 2019, during which participants in the Western Energy Imbalance Market (EIM) will discuss the feasibility assessment conducted to explore extending participation of the ISO’s day-ahead market to Western EIM entities. The ISO Board of Governors was briefed on this topic during their Sept. 18, 2019 meeting.
During the October 3 webinar, representatives from the Balancing Authority of Northern California, Puget Sound Energy, PacifiCorp, and the ISO will discuss the feasibility assessment on behalf of the Western EIM entities. The presentation for the October 3 stakeholder call will be available prior to the meeting on the ISO webpage at http://www.caiso.com/informed/Pages/StakeholderProcesses/ExtendedDay-AheadMarket.aspx.
The ISO will launch an initiative called the Extended Day-Ahead Market (EDAM), starting with an issue paper that will be published in October. Through this initiative and with stakeholder input, the ISO will develop the design details to enable Western EIM entities to participate in the ISO day-ahead market. More details on this initiative will be provided in a future market notice.
The October 3 call will be recorded and a video file posted on the EDAM initiative webpage at the link above for a limited time. The recording is for informational and convenience purposes only, and any related transcriptions should not be reprinted without the ISO’s permission.
