The ISO has posted the template to collect data for conducting its 2019 Flexible Capacity Needs assessment. The ISO uses the assessment to determine the quantity of flexible capacity needed for the upcoming resource adequacy year and how this quantity is allocated to local regulatory authorities (see tariff section 40.10.1 for additional detail regarding the ISO study).
Scheduling coordinators of load serving entities must provide the ISO with the variable energy resources contract data using the template. The template is available on the ISO website at http://www.caiso.com/informed/Pages/StakeholderProcesses/FlexibleCapacityNeedsTechnicalStudyProcess.aspx.
Scheduling coordinators must submit the requested data by close of business January 15, 2018 through the CIDI ticket process with “2019 Annual Flex RA Submission” in the subject line.
