As a result of the record breaking heat wave that has led to load curtailments, the California ISO has determined that convergence bidding is detrimentally affecting the ISO’s ability to maintain reliable grid operations.

Therefore, pursuant to Section 7.9 of the ISO tariff, the ISO is suspending the ability of all Scheduling Coordinators to submit virtual bids for trading day Aug. 21, 2020.

The ISO may suspend the ability to submit virtual bids for subsequent trading days if adverse conditions continue. The ISO will issue a market notice to inform Scheduling Coordinators of future suspensions.
