Main Text
The ISO posted the Energy Storage and Distributed Energy Resources Phase 2 revised straw proposal to its website at http://www.caiso.com/Documents/RevisedStrawProposal_EnergyStorage_DistributedEnergyResourcesPhase2.pdf.
In the revised straw proposal, the ISO addresses four topic areas: (1) non-generator resource model enhancements, (2) demand response enhancements, (3) multiple-use applications, and (4) distinction between wholesale charging energy and station power.
A stakeholder call is scheduled for July 28, 2016 to review the revised straw proposal.
As a reminder, the central focus of the Energy Storage and Distributed Energy Resources (ESDER) initiative is to lower barriers and enhance the ability of transmission grid-connected energy storage and the many examples of distribution-connected resources (i.e. distributed energy resources or "DER") to participate in the ISO market.
A presentation and agenda for the call will be available on the initiative webpage by close of business July 26 at http://www.caiso.com/informed/Pages/StakeholderProcesses/EnergyStorage_DistributedEnergyResourcesPhase2.aspx.
Please submit comments on the revised straw proposal to initiativecomments@caiso.com by close of business August 11.
