The ISO is hosting a conference call on June 15, 2017 for the Energy Storage and Distributed Energy Resources (ESDER) Phase 2 initiative to discuss the draft final proposal, which is available on the ISO website at http://www.caiso.com/Documents/DraftFinalProposal-EnergyStorage_DistributedEnergyResourcesPhase2.pdf.
In the proposal, the ISO addresses three topics it intends on presenting to the Board of Governors during their July meeting: (1) alternative baseline calculations for demand response (DR) resources, (2) distinction between charging energy and station power, and (3) the EIM net benefits test for DR bids. The proposal also provides an updated discussion on the ongoing topics of Multiple-Use Applications (MUA), increased load consumption as a DR enhancement, and non-generator resource (NGR) enhancements.
Prior to the meeting, a presentation and agenda will be posted on the initiative webpage at http://www.caiso.com/informed/Pages/StakeholderProcesses/EnergyStorage_DistributedEnergyResourcesPhase2.aspx.
