Greening the grid

The ISO is active in pioneering ways to use renewable power and smart grid technologies that meet state energy and environmental goals.

The ISO is leading the way in green technologies, such as renewable power and smart grids. We opened an advanced grid technology lab and tech center to educate the public and policymakers on new renewable technologies. At the ISO, you will be part of that effort.

We like to lead by example, launching our own eco campaign. We have a recycling program and use recycled materials when we can. Energy efficient lighting and equipment can be found throughout our campuses, helping to reduce our carbon footprint. We realize that being green is smart business because it not only lowers our operating costs, but saves the planet, too.
