A new Energy Matters Conversations podcast spotlights changes to the ISO’s interconnections process
Members of the ISO’s Infrastructure and Operations Planning team spent more than a year working closely with stakeholders and industry representatives on foundational changes to how the ISO analyzes and approves applications for adding new generation to the transmission system.
That comprehensive package of reforms was approved by the ISO’s Board of Governors in June and needs to be approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission before taking effect.
In our latest Energy Matters Conversations podcast, we hear from two ISO subject matter experts who helped spearhead the interconnections process enhancements initiative – Neil Millar, vice president for Infrastructure and Operations Planning, and Danielle Mills, principal for Infrastructure Policy Development.
Neil and Danielle discuss issues addressed by the initiative and how it will enable the ISO to more efficiently bring online all the clean energy California is adding to the grid. They also talk about the next phase of the interconnection process enhancements initiative, which is already underway.
We hope you take time to listen to the Energy Matters Conversations podcast and share the link with your colleagues.
