Planning2026-2027 Adjustment of the Emergency Interconnection Network Upgrade Maximum posted
The California ISO has posted the 2026-2027 Adjustment to the Emergency Interconnection Network Upgrade Maximum which includes the Annual Inflation Factor to the Interconnection request and study webpage, under the heading participating transmission owner per unit costs.
The ISO and participating transmission owners may implement an emergency interconnection study process based on the strict criteria in the ISO Tariff, Appendix KK, Section 3.10. These criteria help ensure parties do not use the Emergency Interconnection process except in the very narrow circumstances where it is necessary. They also help ensure emergency interconnections do not negatively impact any existing customer in queue. Criterion (d) requires any emergency interconnection’s network upgrades to be below $1 million as escalated annually.
The 2026 - 2027 adjusted emergency interconnection network upgrade maximum will apply to any emergency interconnection study reports published from Sept. 1, 2026, to Aug. 31, 2027.
