2026 Net Qualifying Capacity values for Resource Adequacy Resources

The California ISO has posted the updated preliminary 2026 Resource Adequacy Net Qualifying Capacity (NQC) data on the Reliability Requirements webpage. 

Comments and suggestions related to the NQC values must be submitted through CIRA and suggestions for units to be added to the “Other tab” must be submitted through CIDI with the following subject line “2026 NQC Other tab” along with their Q#, WDAT# or other identifiers by close of business August 4, 2025. Resources that currently do not have any SC association must submit their requests to be added to the “Other tab” via “Contact us” on caiso.com. 

NQC values for all Demand Response resources need to be re-authorized by their Local Regulatory Authority (LRA) based on their latest load impact protocol before they can be added on the NQC list.

If no modifications are requested for NQC by August 4, 2025, the ISO will use the posted values for the RA compliance year 2026.

Scheduling coordinators may submit comments to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) at RAFiling@cpuc.ca.gov.
