Annual Policy Initiatives Roadmap Process 2024: Working Group on 6/12/24

The California ISO will host a virtual meeting on June 12, 2024, to open the discretionary initiative ranking to stakeholders and present the final selection of discretionary initiatives for prioritization. The draft catalog will be available for review in advance of the meeting.

Each of the discretionary initiatives proposed for ranking presented by sponsors in one of three catalog-working groups held in 2024. Submissions not included for ranking are addressed in an existing ISO process or are non-discretionary items, which will be included in the policy roadmap where appropriate regardless of stakeholder prioritization.

The ISO will publish the final prioritized list of discretionary initiatives with stakeholder-identified rankings to the ISO website as the final 2024 catalog. The ISO is appreciative to stakeholders for their high level of participation throughout this process such as submitting and presenting proposals. Next step is ranking discretionary initiatives relative to each other. In particular, the ranked initiative report prepared by the Western Energy Imbalance Market (WEIM) Regional Issues Forum represents the opinion of all participating sectors.

Attendees will be able to request further clarification on proposals and discuss the prioritization of these proposals for inclusion in the 2024 catalog. Discretionary initiatives in the 2024 catalog will be considered for inclusion in the ISO’s Policy Initiatives Roadmap that will be finalized in December 2024.

The draft catalog, agenda, background material and meeting presentations will be available prior to the meeting on the Annual policy initiatives roadmap process - 2024 webpage.

The working group will be recorded and the video file posted on the reoccurring webpage for a limited time. The recording is for informational convenience purposes only. Any related transcriptions should not be reprinted without the ISO’s permission.
