California ISO to initiate public process around FERC Order No. 1920 compliance in early 2025

FERC Order No. 1920 adopts various requirements concerning how transmission providers conduct long-term regional transmission planning and allocate the costs of transmission facilities planned through those processes. The California ISO will provide an opportunity to preview the ISO’s FERC Order No. 1920 compliance filing through a public process, which will commence in early 2025. Following compliance, the ISO expects to provide meaningful opportunities for input of federal, federally-recognized Tribal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting resource mix and demand into the development of Long-Term Scenarios.
