Department of Market Monitoring 2024 Q2 Market Issues and Performance Report, call on 11/26/24

The California ISO Department of Market Monitoring has published the 2024 Second Quarter Report on Market Issues and Performance and has scheduled a stakeholder call on Nov. 26, 2024 to discuss reported analysis and findings.

The report covers market results for the period from April to June 2024. Gas prices were down significantly compared to the same quarter of 2023. This resulted in much lower system marginal energy prices across the ISO and Western Energy Imbalance Market. The report includes analysis of the high priority wheeling rights implementation in June, and the use of the mosaic quantile regression method for calculating the uncertainty components of the residual unit commitment load adjustments, flexible ramping product requirements, and resource sufficiency evaluation requirements.
