Markets OperationsFERC Order 881 Track 2 – Managing Transmission Line Ratings webinar training on 2/19/25
The California ISO will offer a training webinar on Feb. 19, 2025, to review the new transmission line submission interface, webLineR, and new requirements as it relates to FERC Order no. 881 mandate. Per FERC Order no. 881, the ISO must develop the capability to use Ambient Adjusted Ratings (AARs) in market processes when evaluating near-term transmission requests, and as the basis for curtailment. The order also mandates the use of seasonal ratings when AARs are unavailable, uniquely determine emergency ratings for contingency analysis, and ensures that ratings and methodologies are made publicly available. This webinar will cover changes to the affected business processes and software applications related to this project.
Impacted audience:
- California ISO (CAISO) Balancing Authority Area (BAA) Transmission Operators (TOP)
- Reliability Coordinator (RC) Transmission Operators (TOP)
- Adjacent RCs
- Western Energy Imbalance Market (WEIM) participating TOPs in Adjacent RCs
The training presentation and video file recording will be available to all market participants that attended the training within three business days after the webinar. If you are unable to attend the training and would like a copy of the presentation and video, please email CustomerReadiness@caiso.com.
Additional information related to FERC order 881 mandated changes is available on the Release Planning webpage.
