New initiative: Storage Design and Modeling, working group meeting on 12/11/24

The California ISO has launched the Storage Design and Modeling initiative, and will host a virtual stakeholder working group meeting on Dec. 11, 2024.

The meeting will provide an overview of the potential topics, their tentative track categorization, and the timeline to address them. All related concerns in the proposed policy roadmap/catalog will be considered in-scope for discussion. The meeting will also serve as a working group for Track 1, which continues consideration of topics previously under the Storage Bid Cost Recovery (BCR) and Default Energy Bid (DEB) Enhancements initiative. Track 1 will continue to refine BCR provisions for energy storage, explore storage DEB enhancements including standard approval for reference level change requests, and enhance the storage outage submission process.
