New Tool Now Available on CAISO OASIS Website

The California ISO is pleased to announce the availability of a new tool – Historical OASIS Data Downloader. This new tool is now live on the OASIS webpage, where users can access expanded data capabilities and detailed information on how to download historical data. Users can also find this link on the OASIS homepage under System Help.

The download feature provides streamlined access to market pricing data, including Day-Ahead and Real-Time market prices, and supports bulk data downloads for enhanced usability. Please note that while this site offers valuable data resources, it is not intended for operational use.

Key Features Include:

  • Access to Day-Ahead and Real-Time market pricing data
  • Bulk data download functionality
  • New interface for optimal user experience, promoting efficient access and retrieval of large volumes of historical OASIS information
  • At-a-glance pie chart data metrics
  • Feedback icon for easy comment submission or issue reporting
  • Additional resources including a User Guide and Quick Tips tutorial available on the webpage

The OASIS Historical Data Downloader uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 to store all data files. As such, users are required to create and set up their own AWS account for personal or organizational usage.

  • AWS credentials are not required to search the repository but are required to download data files.
  • Users are responsible for any costs associated with data downloads.
  • Please refer to the AWS “Requester Pays” bucket documentation for more details on how download charges are applied.

Please note that in order to download data, users must have an active AWS account. This requirement ensures secure access and proper integration with cloud-based services. Details regarding this prerequisite are included in the user guide. We encourage all prospective users to verify their AWS credentials in advance to ensure smooth customer experience.

We encourage users to explore the new tool and take advantage of its improved features. Your feedback is valuable. Please use the feedback icon located on the left side of the tool interface to share comments or report any issues.
