OASIS technology updates and https URL cutover has been rescheduled to April 1, 2025

The California ISO will be making some updates to the Open Access Same-time Information System (OASIS) application in the Production environment that requires awareness and action from participants.

The ISO is implementing a technology update for our user interface (UI) software and API webservices framework (i.e. JAVA) for the Production environment. Participants will notice a few changes to the UI look and feel. The new version may move familiar items around slightly, change the look of some elements, or anchor UI elements in a different order. Note: There are no core functionality changes to the OASIS application.

Next, the scheme/protocol (i.e. http) for the OASIS Uniform Resource Locator (URL) link will be updated to make the URL more secure by changing it to ‘https’. The scheme/protocol is the first part of the URL that determines how the files on the web server are displayed and transferred to the user. Note: These changes have already been implemented in MAP Stage and are available for validation/testing. The next phase will be in Production.

Impacted audience:

Participants who use OASIS to view or download real-time data related to the ISO transmission system and its market, such as system demand forecasts, transmission outage and capacity status, market prices, and market result data.

What you need to do:

  • Please hold off on making updates to your scheme/protocol for the OASIS URL from ‘http’ to ‘https’ in Production until further notice.
  • If you encounter issues with OASIS UI or API after the technology update and are using Microsoft Edge as your internet browser, please coordinate with your Information Technology (IT) team to disable your Internet Explorer (IE) Compatibility Mode. The recent update requires MS Edge to not have Internet Explorer (IE) 11 compatibility enabled on your browser. If you are using google Chrome, no action is needed.
  • Participants must clear their internet browser cache after the deployment. This will ensure that participants can view the latest updates to the system.

Production implementation date:

April 1, 2025
