Price Formation Enhancements Discussion paper and stakeholder recommendations posted, call on 9/30/24

The California ISO has posted the Price Formation Enhancements Discussion Paper and Stakeholder Recommendations and will hold the associated public stakeholder call on Sept. 30, 2024.

The paper outlines the proposed transition of three key topics: Scarcity Pricing, Balance Authority Area (BAA)-Level Market Power Mitigation, and Fast-Start Pricing - into Phase 2 of the initiative. Scarcity Pricing and BAA-Level Market Power Mitigation will advance together, while Fast-Start Pricing will proceed separately.

The Discussion Paper and Stakeholder Recommendations is available on the initiative webpage. The presentation will be posted prior to the call on the same webpage.

Please submit written comments on the paper and stakeholder call discussion by end of day Oct. 4, 2024 through the ISO’s commenting tool using the link on the initiative webpage linked above.

The meeting will be recorded and the video file posted on the initiative webpage for a limited time. The recording is for informational purposes only, and any related transcriptions should not be reprinted without the ISO’s permission.
