Resource Adequacy Modeling and Program Design working group, hybrid workshops on 2/10/25 and 2/11/25

The California ISO will host Resource Adequacy Modeling and Program Design (RAMPD) working group hybrid workshops on Feb. 10 and Feb. 11, 2025. Attendees may choose to participate in person at the ISO, or virtually. If you plan to attend either of the RAMPD Policy Workshops in person, please register by end of day Feb. 3, 2025. The February 10 session will focus on Track 1 - Modeling, Default Rules, unforced capacity (UCAP), and Capability Testing. The February 11 session will focus on Track 3 - Visibility, and Track 2 - Resource Adequacy Availability incentive mechanism (RAAIM)/Outage and Substitution. The purpose of the workshops will be to preview and receive feedback on concepts that ISO staff are considering for straw proposals. 

If you would like to present on any of the track topics, please reach out to the policy lead. The three tracks and leads include: 

  • Track 1: Modeling, default rules, accreditation, and capability testing
  • Track 2: Outage and substitution and availability and incentive mechanisms
  • Track 3: Resource visibility and backstop procurement reform

Materials will be available prior to the workshop on the Resource Adequacy Modeling and Program Design initiative webpage

Please submit comments for the RAMPD Workshops by March 3, 2025, using the comment template that will be available prior to the call on the webpage linked above. 

The workshop will be recorded and the video file posted on the initiative webpage for a limited time. The recording is for informational and convenience purposes only, and any related transcriptions should not be reprinted without the ISO’s permission.
