Markets OperationsUpcoming Markets Training: DAME, EDAM & EDAM CAISO Balancing Authority Participation Rules
The California ISO is introducing significant changes to the market through a series of transformative initiatives. To support Scheduling Coordinators (SCs) in navigating these changes, we’re offering a market-focused training session on Aug. 18, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. This session will cover the upcoming Spring 2026 launches of:
- Day-Ahead Market Enhancements (DAME)
- Extended Day-Ahead Market (EDAM)
- EDAM ISO Balancing Authority Area Participation Rules
These initiatives are intended to modernize and expand the ISO electricity market across the West, improving grid reliability and efficiency. Even if your organization does not plan to participate in EDAM immediately, this session offers valuable insights to help you prepare for future involvement.
Who should attend?
The primary audience for this training is SCs operating within the ISO Balancing Authority Area, those planning to participate in EDAM, and anyone engaged in Western energy markets who wants to stay informed.
Why is this important?
- Learn how these changes will impact market operations.
- Understand the benefits of day-ahead scheduling across the West.
- Get your questions answered by subject matter experts.
What other training should you consider?
A follow-up session on Aug. 20, 2025, will focus on the settlements-related impacts of these initiatives. We encourage you to attend both sessions for a comprehensive understanding.
A video recording will be available in the ISO Training Center within three business days after the webinar.
