Western Energy Markets Website is Moving to a New Address

We’re pleased to share that the California ISO is updating the web address for its Western Energy Markets website (formerly westerneim.com) on the evening of Nov. 18. You will find us at westernenergymarkets.com – this change better reflects the site’s evolving focus and aligns with the upcoming launch of the Extended Day-Ahead Market (EDAM) in 2026.

Along with the new address, the site has received a technology upgrade. While all content remains in its familiar location, we’ve enhanced the functionality and implemented device responsive design for easier access across platforms. On the evening of Nov. 18, we will be cutting over to the new website address and all previous site links will redirect to the new address.

The Western Energy Markets site continues to serve as a central resource for information about the Western Energy Imbalance Market (WEIM) and EDAM, two key initiatives developed in collaboration with stakeholders across the West to support a more efficient, reliable, and sustainable energy future.

  • WEIM, launched in 2014, enables real-time balancing of electricity supply and demand across a broad footprint. It now includes 21 balancing authorities in 11 western states.
  • EDAM, set to launch in 2026, will extend market operations into the day-ahead timeframe, helping entities forecast and position resources to meet the next day’s electricity needs.

Together, these markets support coordinated resource management across the West, delivering cost savings, improved reliability, and environmental benefits to customers.

Please update your bookmarks to westernenergymarkets.com and continue to visit for the latest updates, resources, and market insights.
