The California ISO (CAISO) will host a joint hybrid meeting with the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and the California Energy Commission (CEC) for Tribes and Tribal representatives on FERC Order No. 1920 and CAISO transmission planning on Apr. 9, 2026, from 1-4 p.m. Pacific Time. The ISO seeks to facilitate conversations with Tribes to incorporate Tribal laws and regulations into long-term transmission planning.
What topics will be covered?
Overview of FERC Order No. 1920 and CAISO’s transmission planning processes, as well as the respective roles and responsibilities of CAISO, the CPUC, and the CEC in electric system planning.
Inform Tribes about CAISO transmission planning and FERC Order No. 1920
Gather feedback on how Tribes would like to engage in future transmission planning processes.
Provide an opportunity for Tribes to learn about the coordinated joint agency and ISO planning processes
Share feedback with the ISO on how Tribes would like to participate in this future dialogue with the ISO.
