Tribal Meeting on FERC Order No. 1920 and Long-Term Transmission Planning

The California ISO will jointly host a hybrid meeting with the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and the California Energy Commission (CEC) for Tribes and Tribal representatives on FERC Order No. 1920 and CAISO transmission planning on April 9, 2026, from 1 p.m.- 4 p.m. Pacific Time. The ISO seeks to facilitate conversations with Tribes to incorporate Tribal laws and regulations into long-term transmission planning. This meeting will provide an overview of FERC Order No. 1920 and CAISO’s transmission planning processes, as well as the respective roles and responsibilities of the CAISO, the CPUC, and the CEC in electric system planning. The purpose of this meeting is to inform Tribes about the CAISO transmission planning and FERC Order No. 1920, and to gather feedback on how Tribes would like to engage in future transmission planning processes. We hope this meeting will provide an opportunity for Tribes to learn about the coordinated joint agency and ISO planning processes and to share feedback with the ISO on how Tribes would like to participate in this future dialogue with the ISO.
