2025 Annual import allocation process: Step 12 remaining import capability posted

The California ISO has posted the remaining import capability per branch group to its website pursuant to Step 12 of the annual import allocation process. Pursuant to Step 13 of the ISO Tariff 40.4.6.2.1, the ISO will accept Step 13 requests for remaining import capability beginning at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday, Aug. 9, 2024.

Requests that are received prior to this 9:00 a.m. start time will be denied. The ISO will accept only two requests per calendar week from any scheduling coordinator on behalf of a single load serving entity, participating generator, or system resource. If a request includes more than two intertie allocation requests, the ISO will only process the first two interties in the request; the remaining intertie requests will be denied.

All transfers and requests for assignment must be submitted in CIRA (under Plans > Manage Import Allocation > Remaining Import Capability > Remaining Import Capability Steps).

Training for the new automation process was conducted on May 2, 2024. The presentation and video recording can be found on the ISO's Training center under Releases, initiatives, and readiness notes.
