Markets2025 Annual import allocation process: Step 13 remaining import capability posted
The California ISO has posted the remaining import capability per branch group to its website pursuant to Step 13 of the annual import allocation process. The posted remaining import capability includes requests made through the calendar week ending Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024.
Pursuant to Step 13 of the ISO Tariff 40.4.6.2.1, the ISO will continue to accept two requests for remaining import capability per calendar week from any scheduling coordinator on behalf of a single load serving entity, participating generator, or system resource. If a request includes more than two intertie allocation requests, the California ISO will only process the first two interties in the request; the remaining intertie requests will be denied.
All transfers and requests for assignment must be submitted in CIRA (under Plans > Manage Import Allocation > Remaining Import Capability > Remaining Import Capability Steps).
Training for the new automation process was conducted on May 2, 2024. The presentation and video recording can be found on the ISO's Training center under Releases, initiatives, and readiness notes.
More information on the import allocation process is available on the Resource Adequacy webpage.
More information on submitting requests through CIRA is available in Section 3.12 in the CIRA user guide.
