CAISO New Implementation Forum on 10/8/25

The California ISO will host a hybrid New Resource Implementation Forum on Oct. 8, 2025. We aim to bolster collaboration with our stakeholder community. Our objective is to improve transparency surrounding the NRI process and outline expectations. If you plan to attend in person, please register by end of day Sept. 30, 2025.

The ISO will provide a high-level overview of the NRI process and highlight the activities of ISO Business Units during NRI reviews. The ISO will also review themes identified by the NRI stakeholder survey and offer solutions to common challenges.  Additionally, the ISO will highlight the metering and telemetry requirements, focusing on potential hurdles and offering strategies for more efficient approvals. Finally, the ISO will share the next steps each organization needs to know when a resource is ready to synchronize to the grid, and address common difficulties encountered during Real-Time Operations. 

The ISO is looking forward to the collaboration and discussion during the event. The ISO recognizes the complexity of this process and the increased need for new resources to meet our clean energy goals. The ISO is committed to working closely with our stakeholders to enhance efficiency in onboarding resources to the grid reliably.
