Demand and Distributed Energy Market Integration: Track 1 draft final proposal will be posted 7/8/26

The California ISO (ISO) will post the Demand and Distributed Energy Market Integration (DDEMI) Track 1 draft final proposal to the initiative webpage by the end of business day, July 8, 2026, and will hold a stakeholder meeting on July 9, 2026.

The proposal includes targeted updates to demand response performance measurement to better accommodate behind-the-meter distributed energy resources. Consistent with stakeholder feedback, the proposal would allow individual customers within a demand response aggregation to export energy, provided they have utility authorization to do so and the aggregation as a whole remains a net load reduction. The proposal also addresses baseline adjustments, scheduling coordinator responsibilities, export compensation considerations, and future evaluation topics.

The ISO will discuss the draft final proposal at the July 9, 2026, meeting and request written comments by July 16, 2026.
