MarketsExtended Day-Ahead Market Congestion Revenue Allocation Stage 2: Analysis paper posted
The California ISO has published a paper regarding the second stage of analysis for the Extended Day-Ahead Market (EDAM) Congestion Revenue Allocation methodology.
On Dec. 11, 2025, the ISO posted a paper on the first stage of analysis related to the congestion revenue allocation methodology for the go-live of the Extended Day-Ahead Market. This initial stage examined historical congestion in the Western Energy Imbalance Market as a reference for potential congestion patterns on balancing areas participating in the Day-1 Extended Day-Ahead Market.
The second stage of the analysis examines the potential impacts of the congestion revenue allocation methodology for Day-1 of the Extended Day-Ahead Market. It fulfills the ISO’s commitment to assess potential impacts prior to the market’s go-live. The findings were previously discussed at the March 6 Market Surveillance Committee session.
The analysis paper is available on the Extended day-ahead market initiative webpage.
