Intertie Schedule Modeling Enhancements Initiative workshop on 8/24/26

The California ISO (ISO) will host a virtual workshop regarding the Intertie Schedule Modeling Enhancements Initiative on Aug. 24, 2026, to continue stakeholder discussions on evaluating enhancements in modeling of intertie schedules on the ISO balancing area interties.

The workshop will continue discussions on evolving modeling of intertie schedules on the ISO balancing area interties to the Generation Aggregation Point (GAP-Tie) design, associated impacts, and implications. Informed by stakeholder comments, the discussion will focus on bid to bill examples under different intertie scheduling scenarios and discuss the price formation effects of moving to the GAP-Tie design, along with data analysis comparing the prices under the GAP-Tie design and the existing design. The discussion will then shift toward the second substantive topic of phasing out intertie scheduling at EDAM internal interties between the ISO and Extended Day-Ahead Market (EDAM) balancing areas, its impacts and effects seeking stakeholder input.

The presentation and other meeting materials will be available prior to the workshop on the Intertie Schedule Modeling Enhancements Initiative webpage. The workshop will be recorded, and the video file will be posted after the meeting. The recording is for informational and convenience purposes only, and any related transcriptions should not be reprinted without the ISO’s permission.

Please submit comments regarding the stakeholder meeting by September 8, 2026, using the comment template on the webpage linked above.
