Intertie Schedule Modeling Evolution on CAISO Interties: Workshop on 3/18/26

The California ISO will host a virtual workshop on Intertie Schedule Modeling evolution on CAISO interties on March 18, 2026, to initiate the next phase of discussions and education on exploring evolution in modeling of intertie schedules.

The workshop represents the kick-off of the next phase of discussions on the long-term Generation Aggregation Points (GAP-Tie) modeling of intertie schedules on the CAISO balancing area interties. As part of Extended Day-Ahead Market (EDAM) implementation workshops on intertie schedule modeling, the ISO retained on a transitional basis the existing Scheduling Point Tie (SP-Tie) modeling of intertie schedules and committed to evaluating with stakeholders improved modeling of intertie schedules and the GAP-Tie design, along with consideration of related topics that may need to be addressed as a result of moving toward a different design in modeling intertie schedules on the CAISO balancing area interties.

The presentation and other meeting materials will be available prior to the workshop on the Extended day-ahead market initiative webpage. The workshop will be recorded, and the video file will be posted after the meeting. The recording is for informational and convenience purposes only, and any related transcriptions should not be reprinted without the ISO’s permission.

Please submit comments regarding the stakeholder meeting by April 1, 2026, using the comment template on the webpage linked above.
