Large Load Considerations Issue Paper will be posted on 1/30/26; information session on 2/5/26

The California ISO will post an issue paper on Large Load Considerations to the miscellaneous meeting page by end of day Jan 30, 2026, and will host a public stakeholder information session on Feb. 5, 2026.

California’s electricity demand is growing rapidly, driven by large loads such as data centers, EV charging, and electrification across the economy, and the ISO is focused on integrating this growth reliably and efficiently. This session will discuss a recently posted issue paper that outlines current roles in large load planning, interconnection, and operations, and highlights key issues and potential areas for future policy or tariff changes as regulatory discussions continue. The presentation will be available on the calendar event and miscellaneous meeting page prior to the call. The ISO will accept comments on the Issue Paper by Feb. 19, 2026, to inform future action on large loads.
