Reminder: Registration for Joint Market Seams workshop on 8/18/26; agenda posted

The California ISO (ISO) and Southwest Power Pool (SPP) are hosting a joint market seams workshop on Aug. 18, 2026, from 9 AM to 2:30 PM Mountain Daylight Time. This is the second workshop in a 4-part series on market-to-market seams that explores key issues with industry experts and interested parties. This meeting is hybrid with in-person participation in Salt Lake City at the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) office. If you plan to attend in person, please register. The ISO and SPP agreed to jointly host the remaining three workshops in the series as part of their collaboration on a joint response to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s directive to report on western seams coordination. 

The Aug. 18, 2026, workshop will focus on transmission constraints and congestion management. Attendees will hear from transmission operators and engineers who will discuss the transmission studies used to identify constraints from long-term planning through real-time operations. Subject matter experts from the ISO and SPP will also provide an overview of congestion management practices within their respective markets.
