Large Loads Initiative: Technical Requirements Working Group call on 3/10/26

The California ISO will host a public stakeholder working group call on March 10, 2026, to provide an update on recent discussions around technical requirements for the Large loads Initiative.

In Oct. 2025, the ISO convened an informal Large Load technical requirements working group that includes transmission owners with active interconnection requests, to establish a consistent framework for safely and reliably integrating large data center loads into the ISO-controlled grid. The ISO is now launching the wider Large Loads Initiative and invites stakeholders to participate in developing new policy regarding large loads. Please see the Large Loads Considerations issue paper and Large loads webpage for more information on the development of technical requirements.

Meeting materials will be available prior to the meeting on the Large loads initiative webpage. Please provide written comments on the working group discussion and March 10 meeting by end of day March 24, 2026, through the ISO’s commenting tool using the link on the initiative page linked above.
