Only California ISO certified scheduling coordinators may participate in the ISO’s energy and ancillary services markets.
Application process
Before submitting a scheduling coordinator application and fee, please review related ISO tariff sections and Business Practice manuals.

- The New Scheduling Coordinator and Resource Owner Reference Guide is for scheduling coordinators and resource owners new to the resource implementation process. It contains helpful information, links and resources to assist with successful interconnection to the grid and participation in the wholesale power market.
- Find the Scheduling Coordinator Application Form in the Scheduling Coordinator Certification and Termination Business Practice Manual, Attachments B and C.
- When a scheduling coordinator application and fee are accepted, a qualified certification specialist will provide a requirements checklist and assist the applicant through the certification process.

Certification requirements
As part of the scheduling coordinator certification process, the ISO must confirm all SC applicants have emergency procedures and preferred method of receiving payments from and remitting payments to the ISO are in place.
Scheduling coordinator certification applicants are required to complete a series of training courses and a certification exam as part of the certification requirements.

Credit policy
Credit is used to protect the financial integrity and effectiveness of ISO markets. The BPM for Credit Management and Market Clearing describes the credit-related policies and processes. View credit policy forms and documentation on the settlements page.
Documents required for participation
Agreements are pro forma, FERC approved. The information request sheets provide the ISO with information specific to each agreement. Agreements adhere to the scheduling coordinator requirements and standards. Please provide required information to initiate certification, meter service and network connectivity agreements early in the process.
