The administrative pricing rules production activation date has been delayed from February 1, 2017 to April 1, 2017. The California ISO will file a petition for limited tariff waiver to delay implementation of tariff section 7.7.9 and related tariff provisions contained in the tariff amendment accepted by FERC in Docket No. ER17-415 on January 30, 2017.
On January 30, 2017, FERC issued an order accepting all tariff changes that the ISO proposed in FERC Docket No. ER17-415, including changes to tariff section 7.7.9, which sets forth new administrative pricing rules. Implementation of the new administrative pricing rules is being postponed to April 1, 2017, in alignment with the Spring 2017 Release.
Several factors have contributed to the change in schedule. These include: 1) better management of software changes among several projects affecting the same applications; 2) efficiency of testing with the other changes to ensure that there are no regressions in functionality; 3) reduced implementation overhead for market participants who have communicated to us that they have resource constraints; and 4) increased efficiency of code promotion and post-production support.
The ISO is filing a petition for limited tariff waiver today to request postponing the effective date of ISO tariff section 7.7.9 and related tariff provisions as detailed in the waiver petition from February 1, 2017 to April 1, 2017.
