Regional Integration and EIM Greenhouse Gas Compliance Initiative: Meeting 5/31/17
The California ISO has scheduled a stakeholder meeting on May 31, 2017 to discuss the draft final proposal for the Regional Integration and Energy Imbalance Market (EIM) Greenhouse (GHG) Compliance initiative. Please RSVP by May 29 if planning to attend in person. A web conference will also be available. Submit comments on the draft final proposal and meeting discussion by June 14.
This initiative explores mechanisms to track compliance obligations with California greenhouse gas regulations for EIM participating resource scheduling coordinators. The ISO also may extend these mechanisms to scheduling coordinators for supply resources located outside of California in an expanded balancing authority area.
The California Air Resources Board (ARB) currently has a rulemaking process to amend its greenhouse gas regulations for emissions associated with EIM transfers considered electricity imports into California. The ISO is working in collaboration with ARB and stakeholders to address the proposed amendments to ARB regulations.
An agenda and presentation will be available prior to the meeting on the initiative webpage (link referenced above).
