Call for Statewide Conservation Heightened (Folsom, CA) The California Independent System Operator Corporation (California ISO) issued a Stage One Electrical Emergency for 3:20 to 8:00 pm today, continuing the call for energy conservation. Temperatures throughout the southwest continue to climb, decreasing the availability of imported power. That coupled with low hydro levels and high inland temperatures is creating the need to access operating reserves. A Stage One – a call for voluntary conservation – is triggered by a seven percent reserve margin.
